Frequently Asked Questions
Federal Resume Writing Service
How soon will I get my federal resume?
After reviewing the documents (old resume and answered questionnaire) you have submitted, our team will send you the delivery date of your resume. Please take note that what you will receive is only the initial draft, which is still subject for your review. The turnaround time is 3-5 business days, excluding weekends and holidays. Once you receive the first draft, please review it and send feedback to the writer for further revisions. Otherwise, you may inform us if we can prepare the final copy and proceed with other inclusions or add-ons purchased (if there are any).
How many revisions do you offer?
Unlike most of the resume writing companies, we offer unlimited number of revisions to unfinished projects within six (6) months from the sign-up date for the federal resume writing service until the client is completely satisfied. Take note, though, that revision refers to the modification of resume content targeted to the job announcement number that you mentioned in the questionnaire or conveyed to your resume writer. Changing the JA# during the revision process isn’t considered a revision; hence, in this case, you need to purchase an additional federal resume for a new target job.
In what file format will my completed resume be when delivered to me?
Regardless of the file format of your old resume, we always work on our clients’ resumes in Word and PDF formats. This standard aims to help you make minor adjustments on your own resume as you see fit using the Word format. The PDF version allows you to see the actual formatting used in your resume. Apart from these formats, we send final copies in ASCII formats as part of the inclusions of our service.
Do you offer resume updates once the project has already been completed?
We only offer free updates to finalized projects completed within six (6) months from the sign-up date. The updates involved refer to minor changes, as well as addition or removal of resume content, such as contact information, address, and latest job position and responsibilities. However, a minimal fee might be required if your package has already expired. You may read more about this in our Project Agreement.
Do I really have to provide a job announcement number (JA#) before purchasing?
Yes, because this will serve as your target job and we have to double check the requirements of the job posting and its deadline. Here’s why:
- As much as possible, we do not want to compromise the quality of your resume. Federal resumes employ a different writing approach compared to civilian ones. Thus, we encourage our clients to provide us with the JA# at least 7 to 10 business days away from the actual deadline
- Each JA# has its unique requirements for each applicant. These include how your resume should be written and if you will need supporting documents such as Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA); Executive Core Qualifications (ECQ); and more.
Where should I find available job openings in the federal government?
Do you write generic resumes intended for federal jobs?
As mentioned above, our federal job resume writers do not encourage clients to avail of our federal resume writing service without the JA# because each has unique requirements from how to apply, to their respective deadlines. Without the JA#, we will not be able to guarantee the effectiveness of the resume.
Aside from federal resume service, do you offer other services that I can use?
Apart from resumes, our team of expert writers also prepares other documents that you can use to complement your resume. These add-on services include a professional biography, LinkedIn Profile, cover letter, and statement of purpose for college admission. You may check out our other resume services for more information.
Do you do the submission of federal resumes to https://www.usajobs.gov/ ?
No. Submission should be done by the applicant because it involves sensitive information that should not be shared with our staff.
